Gravity Speed System

In this type, the fuel tank is placed at a higher level than the engine. Fuel from the tank flows through the fuel line towards the carburetor injection pump by its own weight (gravity) and hence the system is known as gravity feed system. This system is still used in motor cycles and scooters due to its simplicity.
Vacuum feed system:
This system uses engine manifold vacuum to draw fuel from the main tank to the auxiliary fuel tank from where it is fed to the carburetor by gravity. The main fuel tank is placed away from the engine at some suitable place in the vehicle. The auxiliary tank is located above engine level.
Pressure feed system
In pressure feed system, fuel is fed to the carburetor under pressure. Nowadays fuel is fed to the carburetor means of a mechanically or electrically operated fuel pump. Fuel is drawn from the tank by the pump and fed to the carburetor with pressure. Since this pressure system, uses pump for the fuel feed. So this system is known as pump pressure fuel feed.
