Software configuration management is the management of changing software, defining instruments for managing various editions of these work products, it is the key to managing and controlling the vastly complex software projects being developed by the help of software configuration management. The method is used to control and file all changes in the software life series. This starts with the commencement of a software assignment and continues until the software is no longer used (it won’t stop when the software is shipped).

Main Features of CM Tools

The key features of CM tools are the recognition and control of software and software-related components as they alter frequently. Most of the users, the chief concern is the tool’s aptitude to support a project panel that build up software in a single depository, although individual members of the team may be at different locations connected by a network. Individual members of the team need to be able to take over the tasks given to them with no interference
from other team members. However, as each assignment is finished, the outcome need to be made existing to other team members to assimilate into their individual work at a time of their choosing. Version control, the original CM necessity, sustains a history of the changes to a part as it progress over time and permits users to access to a particular version.

SCM Implementation

In order to organize effective Software Configuration Management technology and performance, it is vital to know the various implementation levels of SCM and line up the SCM tasks with a proper aiming level in an organization. SCM should be implemented in a sensible way to enable for completion of upcoming SCM tasks . Successful implementation of SCM needs know what to do and what not to do, having a plan, and implementing the plan effectively.

Level of Application : tasks aimed towards the application owner, SCM, and infrastructure employees. The goal here is to erect an appropriate SCM infrastructure for the application.

Level of Organization : Primary tasks aimed towards higher management. The objective here is to get assurance and raise alertness of SCM.

Level of Project : tasks targeted toward project and SCM employees. The goal here is to carry on the usage of SCM tools and process.

About Data mining?

Right now many business either online or offline requires atleast a basic software to run the business. Definitely data and database are the key factors for all business to determine their important decision on various data analysis. Right now all businesses are facing problems with too much of data with a great deal of info on hiding within it, but “hiding” is the right word which we can define this. So much data exists that it overpowers traditional methods of data analysis.

Data mining paves a way to get all the information buried in the data. Data mining creates models to find various hidden patterns and it can done for dataWhich are large, complex collection of data, patterns that sometimes elude traditional statistical approaches to analyze because of the large number of attributes, the density of patterns, or the difficulty in performing the analysis.

Data warehousing Concepts — Role of data mining in database?

Data mining normally require a considerable amount of data collection and data processing before and after model building. Data tables can be done by combining various types and sources of information. The fact is the actual data is often dirty, that is, includes wrong and missing values, all business should take utmost care and most often be cleaned before it can be used. Data is filtered , trimmed, sampled, transformed in various ways using data mining. Up to 80% of hard work in a data mining project is often dedicated to data preparation when the data is stored in a table inside a database, data preparation can be used through database facilities.

Data mining models consist of testing, validating , managing and then deployment in their appropriate application domain environments. The data mining results may need to be post processed as part of domain specific computations such as for ex. Calculating, estimated risks, expected utilities and response probabilities and then stored into permananet databases or data-warehouses.

Challenging job is to make the entire data mining process work in a reproducible and reliable way, it may involve automation and transfers across servers, data repositories, applications and tools . For example, some data mining tools require that data be exported from the corporate database and converted to the data mining tool’s format; data mining results must be imported into the database. Removing or reducing these obstacles can enable data mining to be utilized more frequently to extract more valuable information and, in many cases, to make a significant impact on the bottom-line of an enterprise. Data mining in the database makes the data movement required by tools that do not operate in the database unnecessary and make it much easier to mine up-to-date data.

Document Management System- A must for business

Introduction to document management

document management is essential in the running of any business today. This is infact true for both online companies, and brick and mortar companies. If your break down the components that make up the communication of a company you’ll see that documents are at the forefront. Whether these are paper documents, or documents in the form of email and Word documents, they all need to be sorted and managed so that the process of record keeping is as smooth and precise as possible. Without a paper trail of documents no business or organisation can run successfully.Think of all those times when you need to access a certain piece of information that you know was written within the contents of a particular document.

The tendency towards a paperless office is more realistic for some businesses than for others. Most businesses still operate in a “mixed” environment of paper and electronic data, so their document management system has to expedite the handling of paper documents as well.

Benefits of using a document management software

As we all know managing documents are very important. This document management software can automate the process of managing and arranging the documents effectively.

Some of the following Benefits for using a document management
software/application

Document management software automates your office work and business processes

Using document management software will reduce paper, mail & postage costs

Instant data capture is possible

Complete control of the documents

The document management application ensures private access to the most current documents and other electronic files created in any software application

Document management application can also store the published documents with all of their compressed versions in to its database.

Electronic document approval and automate document distribution

You can streamline the editing and reviewing process with document management software

For many businesses, the focus of document management is on the organization and storage of documents. They want to be able to store documents in an organized and secure way that still allows documents to be found easily.

There is a progress within large organizations to use document management software which saves lot of money through paper costs.

IVR – interactive voice response?

Interactive Voice Response (IVR) is a telephony technology which provides fast access to data and information and which enables users to interact with a database through phone keypad or voice commands.

IVR(Interactive Voice Response)

save lot of money in business and reduce man power cost for businesses. IVR solutions are mainly used in companies for improved client/customer service, helpdesk support , call center ,client/customer databases, checking accout status, voicemails, helpdesk support , call center and unified messaging, etc.

IVR can also reduce the cost of common sales, service, collections , enquiries and other support oriented calls to and from the company.

Historically, IVR solutions have used pre-recorded voice prompts and menus to present information and options to callers, and touch-tone telephone keypad entry to gather responses. Modern IVR solutions also enable input and responses to be gathered via spoken words with voice recognition.

IVR solutions enable users to retrieve information including bank balances, flight schedules, product details, order status, movie show times, and more from any telephone.

IVR applications can be developed using traditional programming languages such as C, C++, or even COBOL through a rich set of IVR software API’s.

Most of IVR Systems mainly used for

Check bank balances

Manage credit cards, debit cards

Checking for store hours or locations

Report non-emergency problems to cable or utility services

Schedule appointments with higher officials as programmed

Deliver info about news, traffic or stock reports.

What does IVR management software do?

Basically IVR (Interactive Voice Recognition) is a telephone answering machine not only can be used as a simple answering machine but you can use it as a sophisticated interactive response system. Prime most benefit of an IVR is to manage calls and respond to calls proactively. IVR manages all voice mails and interact accordingly with the caller. It can act also as a virtual Call center representative who take orders or even convince customers to make a successful sale. It can manage survey questionnaire and can randomly take survey successfully. Finally IVR can also transfer
calls, some software companies provide that feature. As a person reading this, I suggest you to download for a IVR demo and then look for the features and then buy one.

What is SQL?
You probably noticed that many of these products include the acronym SQL (often pronounced “sequel”). This is a term which arises very often when discussing databases. It stands for Structured Query Language and is a language that all relational databases understand. A “database query” is something that a user asks the database, and SQL is the language that query is written in.You don’t actually need to know much about SQL to operate a database (especially when using something like Microsoft Access) because it hides the SQL behind menus and toolbars and nice little pop-ups. However, SQL is a fairly simple language, so this section provides a brief introduction.

What is a database-driven Web site?

Now that you know the database basics (what they are, how to use them, who makes them and how to query them) it’s time to return to the initial problem—how to keep up with your competitors and their fancy new Web sites.Individual Web pages on any Web site are either static or dynamic. A static Web page is one that can only be changed by logging into the server and replacing the Web page with a new version. A dynamic Web page is one that knows how to read its information from a database. For example, your Web site might display a list of all your the clients from your clients table. When you change the data in your database to reflect that Smith Records has just moved to Manchester, this change is automatically reflected on your Web site. The page is no longer static because it dynamically displays the contents of your database.Since the data in your database drives the content on your Web pages, it is considered “database driven.”

How can my Web site read from my database?

This is the hard part. It is easy enough to have a Web site, and databases aren’t too difficult either, but how on earth do you get the former to talk to the latter? The answer is twofold.First, your Web site and your database will probably need to be situated on the same computer, or at least in the same local network. This may seem inconvenient because your Web site is probably on a computer in a big warehouse in a city hundreds of miles away.

However, your Web server may already have some database software installed (usually SQL Server on Windows servers and MySQL on Linux servers), or you can ask your host to install it for you. Once the software is up and running, there are plenty of tools to allow you to administer the database remotely. Second, you need some glue to connect your Web site to your database. For this you will need more software and probably a programmer.

Again, the software is probably already on your server. On a Windows server it is usually .NET, and PHP on a Linux server (there are alternatives, such as Java Beans, Java Struts and ColdFusion). These bits of software all know how to communicate with databases and turn the results into dynamic Web pages. Then you just need to call up your favorite IT guy and say “Make it work!” He’ll write various scripts which refer to the database and output HTML. Here is an example of such a script in PHP:

$connection = mysql_connect (“localhost:3066″, “paul”, “8asdfk3″);
$query = mysql_db_query (“test”, “SELECT * FROM clients”, $connection);
while ($row = mysql_fetch_array ($query)) {
print $row["name"] . ” is located in ” . $row["city"] . ”
“;
}

First, the script connects to a MySQL database (specifying the server location, port, user name and password). Then it runs a query using that connection (passing in the database, the query on the clients table, and the $connection variable). Then it loops through each of the results and prints out the clients’ names and cities. This is one of the most expensive parts of the process, but once it is working you will be able to make all changes on your Web site very quickly.

Conclusion Hopefully this article has served to demystify databases and how to start using them. Now know that a database is just a handy and structured place to put all your data. You know what database software is for, who makes it and why there can be such huge price differences.Your grasp of SQL is tenuous, but at least you know what it stands for.see more of integrated solutions

And finally, the phrase “database-driven Web site” no longer scares you, because it’s just about people putting stuff in a database and having it automatically appear on a Web site. And when you have commissioned and received your brand new, database-driven, fully dynamic Web site, you can feel very proud that you are keeping up with your competitors. You can also be happy that you’ll still have a reason to call your IT guy, who is working for you again from his cottage in Barbados.

Secrets of Successful Project Management

Its always difficult to manage software projects. Almost all of the new project managers does not receive any proper training in project management. For their survival project managers sometimes have to depend upon the coaching and survival tips from people who have done their work and have good experience in Project management.

Here we have laid down some of the tips for successful project management which are learned from both well managed projects and challenged projects. Note these useful suggestions for project management

Tip #1: Define Winning Formula for your project

At the beginning, make sure the stakeholders share a common ground of how they will analyse and determine whether this project is successful. Possible successful factor for project management is not only meeting the predetermined schedule too often, but there are certainly other options.

Few examples are inflating market share, reaching a specified sales volume or returns, achieving clear-cut customer satisfaction measures, retiring a high-maintenance legacy system, and achieving a particular transaction processing volume and accuracy.

Tip #2: Finding out Project drivers, limitations, and degrees
of Iiberty

All Project needs to be balanced by its functionality, staffing, budget, schedule, and quality goals. Determine each of these five project dimensions as either a constraint within you must operate, a driver aligned with project achievement, or a degree of liberty that you can align within some stated bounds to succeed in project management

Tip #3: Assigning Product release basis –

Early in the project, decide what criteria will determine whether or not the product is ready for release. You might base release criteria on the number of high-priority defects still open, performance measurements, specific functionality being fully operational, or other indicators that the project has met its goals. Whatever criteria you choose should be realistic, measurable, documented, and ligned with what “quality” means to your customers.

Tip #4: Negotiate commitments – (Project management)

Its always pressure to promise the impossible, never make a guarantee you know you can’t keep. Engage in good-faith negotiable transaction with customers and managers about what is practically achievable. Any input you have from previous projects will help you make compelling arguments, although there is no real protection against unreasonable people.

These are some tips of Project management success

Safeguard Your pc and What are virus ? Firewall can stop?

As a computer user, you face a major challenge in keeping your computer free from destructive viruses.A virus is a program or piece of code that is loaded onto your computer without your knowledge and runs against your wishes. Most viruses can also replicate themselves, which is dangerous because they can quickly use all available memory and bring the system to a halt. Some viruses are capable of transmitting themselves across networks and bypassing security systems.

In 1987 a virus infected ARPANET, a large network used by the Defense Department and many universities. As a result, a number of antivirus programs became available to the public. We can distinguish between general viruses, worms, and Trojan Horses:Viruses are designed to spread from file to file on a single computer. A worm is a special type of virus that can replicate itself and use memory, but cannot attach itself to other programs. It is designed to copy itself from one computer to another over a network.

A Trojan Horse virus contains a hidden surprise intended by the programmer but totally unexpected by the user. Trojan Horses are often designed to cause damage or do something malicious to a system, but are disguised as something useful. Unlike viruses, Trojan Horses don’t make copies of themselves. Like viruses, they can cause significant damage to a computer.A virus hoax is a message sent via e-mail intended to scare people about a non-existent virus threat. Users often forward these alerts thinking they are doing a service to their friends, but merely waste other people’s time and effort. The increased email traffic can soon become a problem in Internet access systems. Most viruses enter your computer system through an attachment to an email. Contrary to what is widely believed, the attached files can infect your computer even if they aren’t opened. Some new viruses can attack your system even if you merely open an email. Your computer can be infected even if the email attachment is merely resident on your hard drive but has not been activated. So it’s best not to open any suspicious email messages and avoid opening ANY attachments if possible. If the file is important to you, have the person transmit the information in some other form. For example, instead of sending a .doc document by attachment, have them create an HTML document to link to the .doc file (your browser can open the .doc file in Word).

Viruses can appear in many guises, the most common being:

.pif files (program information files)

image files like Jpg,Gif,Png

Guidelines for keeping your Computer free from Viruses

Try to avoid people–on the Internet and otherwise–who are inherently vindictive or malicious. This is not always possible because some virus predators attack people indiscriminately. But if you get into conflict with someone who is a psycho and has computer skills, try to terminate all contact as quickly as possible.

Buy and install the latest virus protection program. At present the best anti-virus systems are Semantec’s Norton AntiVirus and McAfee VirusScan. Both companies provide update .dat (data) files which contain the most recent information on viruses. These .dat files operate in tandem with your virus protection program to scan and clean your computer (hard drive and peripheral drives). Of the two anti-virus systems, I would recommend Semantec’s Norton AntiVirus, Corporate Edition, because of its outstanding virus detection capabilities, its virus database, and its small programs that get rid of specific viruses.

Set up your virus protection software so it watches every file entering your computer–from the Internet or from a peripheral drive. Also configure your anti-virus program to update its virus definition files regularly–in order to keep your virus protection current.

Run your virus protection software regularly and often. If your computer has inadvertently become infected, have your anti-virus program immediately quarantine the file and then permanently delete it from your computer.

If your computer has become so infected that your anti-virus software won’t work effectively to disinfect your system, then determine:

Don’t network your computers unless you have already installed the best anti-virus software program possible and set up the safeguards listed above. You don’t want a single virus infecting more than one computer if you can avoid it.

Keep a backup computer on hand. When I experienced a deadly virus attack which infected two of my computers, the thing that saved me was having a backup computer. I was thus able to get out onto the Internet, get the relevant information about the malicious virus, and continue operating effectively.

If your anti-virus software detects infection, make sure the virus is not ony quarantined but destroyed. Then go to your software company and get whatever information they have on the specific virus that attacked you. Semantec or McAfee should have a small program which you can download and then run to purge the virus from your computer system.

Watch for information on virus infection vulnerabilities of specific software. For example, in the update below, Internet Explorer and Microsoft Office 2000 have now been admitted to have virus vulnerabilities which require a patch. Download the patch and load it into your computer as soon as possible.

About SBA Loans

Buyer seeking SBA loan must prove stability of the business and must also be ready to offer collateral – machinery, equipment or real estate. In addition to that there must be some proof of a healthy cash flow in order to assure that loan payments can also be made. In certain scenario where there is enough cash flow but inadequate collateral, the buyer can offer personal collateral, such as his or her own home or other asset. Over the years, the SBA has become well in tune with small business financing. Its now has a Lo-Doc Program for loans under $1,00,000 that requires only a minimum of efforts.

Another optimistic financing sign many banks are now being approved by SBA lenders. Lending Institutions Banks and other lending agencies give unsecured loans proportionate with the money available for servicing the debt. Those who are searching for bank loans will be successful if they have a large net worth, Liquid assets, or a reliable source of income. Unsecured loans are also feasible to me by if the buyer is already a encouraging customer or one qualifying for the SBA loan program, when a bank participates in financing a business sale, it will typically finance 50 to 75 percent of the real estate value, 75 to 90 percent of new equipment value or inventory. Only intangible assets attractive to banks are accounts receivable, which they will do funding from 80 to 90 percent. Terms might sound attractive; most of small business buyers are reckless to look toward conventional lending institutions to finance their acquisition. By some estimates, the rate of refusal by banks for business acquisition loans can increase more than 80 per cent. Financing in some form, really exists out there. Business plans and Private placement memorandum can be a communicator for financing. Today entrepreneurs are much more likely to dive to their own pockets and hunker down for a battle to start up and stay alive.

Visio and VBA — PART – II – AuthorKen Getz and Mike Gilbert

Visio

Although it may seem daunting to have to learn a new programming environment (and really, it’s very simple – Intellisense, as you’ll see, makes
all the difference), once you learn Visio’s development environment, you’re going to be comfortable in any application that hosts VBA. Because all the keystrokes, the tools, and the language are all the same, it takes little
time to get going in a new environment.

As you know, things aren’t nearly as rosy as marketing-speak would make them seem. The programming tool is only a small portion of using a new product. The big hurdle is the application’s object model. There’s no substitute for digging in and learning how an application works, as well. These two issues: the object model, and the application’s UI, are crucial for writing applications that work in any environment. Visio is no exception (and perhaps, it’s the rule – its interface is awfully idiosyncratic), so be prepared to dig in and study its object model before and during your
application development. Of course, as you’ll see, IntelliSense will come to the rescue.

Word Completion

This one’s a bit less discoverable, because you must press a special key to make it happen (Ctrl+Space), but it makes typing much faster. Once you enter enough characters to uniquely identify an object or keyword, you can simply press Ctrl+Space and have VBA provide the rest. If the choice
is ambiguous, it’ll drop down the list as shown in List Properties/Methods illustration above. Otherwise, it completes your word for you. For example, if you type “Msg” and then press Ctrl+Space, it’ll fill in the “Box” (giving you “MsgBox”, of course) automatically.

Two’s Better Than One

Unlike Visual Basic 3 and 4, VBA supports multiple projects open in the VBA environment. This allows you to work on multiple-document applications and add-ins, without having to load two separate copies of VBA. In addition, this makes it possible to drag and drop forms, modules, and class modules between projects. No more importing! Just open both projects, and drag the modules where you need them.

Drag ‘n’ Drop Code

Want to move a procedure from one module to another? Need to copy a chunk of code to another procedure? Either of these tasks can be accomplished using drag and drop in the VBA editor.

Don’t Lose Your Place

All to often, you want to leave your current location, go somewhere else in the code, and then return to your previous location. To make this easy, VBA supports bookmarks. You can toggle a bookmark, move to the next or previous bookmark, or remove all bookmarks from the Edit toolbar.

References are Everything

In order to allow you to code to objects outside the current host application, most ActiveX components that can be controlled provide a type library. This file (normally with a TLB extension) provides information for ActiveX components that need to use the functionality exposed by the server component. The type library contains information about constants, using the help file associated with the application to find out about its objects, as well as information about the methods, and properties of the objects. In order to use this information, however, you’ve got to tell VBA where to find it. To do so, you’ll use the Tools > References dialog,
shown below.

Creating Objects

Once you’ve created the necessary references, you can use code like the following to instantiate variables that point to the different objects:

Dim oExcel As Excel.ApplicationLater, when you need to use the Excel Application object, you can use code like this:

Set oExcel = New Excel.Application Finally, when you’re finished using oExcel, make sure and set it to Nothing, thereby releasing the reference count and allowing Windows to remove the object from memory:

Set oExcel = Nothing You can also create and instantiate the variable at the
same time:

Dim oExcel As New Excel.Application This isn’t recommended, however, because you have no control over the time at which the application gets started. By explicitly assigning the variable to be a new instance of the application when you need it, you maintain control over when (and if) the object comes to life. This technique is called “early binding”, because VBA can look up the properties and methods of your object at compile
time.

Note: Multiple ActiveX components expose objects with the same name. For example, both Excel and Visio expose a Cell object. In your code, within Visio, you can refer to a Cell object, and its use will be unequivocal. If you then take the same code and run it in Excel (and you should be able
to do this), it will fail. Excel will think you’re referring to its Cell object, and your code will not do what you’d like. To avoid this problem, always provide complete object references in your code. That is, always include
the application name (as in Visio.Cell, or Excel.Cell) in any object declaration.

Early vs. Late Binding

You may find that some applications don’t allow you to create variables that refer to specific objects within their type libraries—Schedule+ 95 was one such ActiveX server component. In that case, you’ll have to write
code something like this:

Dim oBad As Object

Set oBad = CreateObject(“BadApp.Application”)

This technique causes your code to run much slower than it might otherwise, however. Because VBA can’t look up, and bind to, the methods and properties of your object until run time, and it must do so each and every time you run your application, you pay a stiff performance penalty.
This technique, known as “late binding,” causes your code to run slower, and should be avoided if possible.

Note: You can use CreateObject in early binding scenarios, as well. It gives you the most explicit control over when your objects come into being. You’ll want to investigate the GetObject function, as well, which attempts to retrieve a reference to an existing object in memory, as opposed to starting a new instance of the application.

Object Browser

The Object Browser (press F2 to get it started) allows you to investigate the objects, constants, methods, and properties of all the applications for which you’ve set a reference (using the Tools > References dialog), and for all the ActiveX controls you’ve added to your project. Image below shows the Object Browser in use.

You can peruse the objects in the browser, working through objects in the left pane, to the objects, methods and properties of the selected object on the right. Working from left to right, and back over to the left again, you can investigate the hierarchy of objects which makes up the object model of any application.

Surgery Through a Straw

OK, so it’s not so bad any more. Debugging in early versions of Visual Basic always seemed as productive as performing major surgery through a hole the size of a straw. Things have improved a bit, and VBA supports the full complement of break points, watch points, conditional watch points, and the wonderful Quick Info tips. The Locals window (shown below), allows you to view all the variables that are currently in scope, as you’re debugging your code

One useful tip: you can alter the value of any simple variable, from the Locals window. Simply select the Value column, and enter a new value. If you’re debugging and want to modify the value of a variable, this is certainly a convenient way to do it.

Web Based Contract Management Software System Benefits

Nowadays,Technology has grown and matured faster ; due to that it allows an efficient cost effective computer based contract management tracking system software. In modern business, contracts plays a vital role in every organization and with the increased demands on work force managers, it managers, project managers, negotiators, legal departments and employees.Mis-managing of contracts can be happened easily. Most of the times, the incompetence to track payments, terms renewal, budgets and volume discounts can cost many firms valuable resources, such as consumption of time, energy and money.Reporting between contract managers, vendors and the central office are slow, complex and costly and very little time to track down the correct answer, when questions arise about data if when the staff overworked.

Contract Management Software Minimizes Risk while Saving Time and Money

Usage of Internet and Web technologies, the process of Contract management tracking software can overcome all of these issues and minimize your contract costs and add value to your business property. Since the evolution of Technologies ,Communication is playing a major part and Internet plays even more and moreover it is universal in United states and rest of the developed world, and can be accessed even in remote places, due to that the cost of providing network connectivity from the Head office to remote locations or even straightly to the key players themselves are minimized. Since most organizations have current agreements with ISP’S, the cost has come down very low for the network connectivity and the support.

By incorporating a Web enabled contract management solution, data can be entered by the employees to whom it is most available and important, but stored in a central location and available for sharing purposes. The legal team can have permission to key legal issues included in the contract. The contract managers can be updated immediately about the milestones and deadlines. The accounting department may access contractual info for budgeting, payments and financial tracking. Negotiators can have permission to key information when it is time for renewal and negotiating. Storage on central
location has the advantage and benefits of allowing a systematic disaster recovery plan, implementation of data consistency, work flow and business rules, and the chance to concentrate on economical resources and personnel.

Benefits of Using Recruiting Software

Recruiting software includes all of the benefits of applicant tracking software (i.e. building and searching a database of candidates with almost no measurable time or administrative cost), but then adds very significant additional benefits of its own. Recruiting software tracks candidates through the interview and hiring process, and also creates comprehensive records for client companies (or departments and locations within the same company) and hiring managers. It does all of these things with just a few mouse clicks.

Time Savings

Tracking candidates through the interview and hiring process is not an optional activity for a recruiter. One way or another, it has to be done. If you”re a recruiter, you need to know exactly which candidates are being considered for which positions. Without dedicated recruiting software, this tracking is usually done using a combination of paper records and Excel spreadsheets. It is also very time-consuming.

The time savings associated with recruiting software derive from the fact that this category of software is always a form of relational database software. In a relational database, records from one category (e.g. candidate records) can be cross-filed, or “related” to records from some other category (e.g. job order records). It takes just a few mouse clicks, (usually very “intuitive” mouse clicks), to create this cross-filing relationship.

The concept is the same as cross-filing paper records, for example, by making a copy of a candidate’’s paper resume, and then filing this copy in a master folder for a given job opening, along with the resumes of other candidates who are being considered for this same job. Obviously, making a paper copy, and then filing it, is a very time intensive process.

Trying to track candidates using Excel or some other spreadsheet program is probably more efficient than filing paper records, but is still time intensive. Specific pieces of information, such as interview dates, offer and acceptance dates, etc., have to be manually entered into the spreadsheet. The resulting spreadsheet is a concise and useful document, but it has no relationship to any other record keeping systems. The keystrokes used to create it serve one purpose only.

With recruiting software, there is no manual data entry time whatsoever for this purpose. Dates can be clicked into the database,(not typed) and because recruiting software is relational, the same clicked date will automatically update multiple record types at the same time. Clicking in a single interview date will update four record types at the same time:

The candidate record

The job order record

The client record

The hiring manager’’s record

Only you know how much time you”re spending today tracking candidates through the interview and hiring process. Even if you”re actively working to fill just 2-3 jobs at any given time, however, the time spent for this purpose easily amounts to some number of hours per month. A very conservative assumption will be that recruiting software will cut in half the time you”re spending on this activity. The more jobs you are actively trying to fill at any one time, the greater will be your time savings.

Strong and Happy Life with Dating

There is a saying the men are from the planet mars and women are from the venus . Its true that most of the cases both men and women find it difficult to understand each other. Men find it very difficult to understand about what females are thinking in their heart. Women also sometimes find it difficult to understand men. You may think both are human beings so what’s the difficulty in understanding?

After a deep research and study it says there is always a fundamental difference with the way that a man and a woman think about a Man. If you deeply study both sexes you might find that men think more logically than
women. A woman thinking will be attached more to the emotions. A proper dating will help lot of people to gain confidence with their partner, to know about each other likes, dislikes, how do they communicate each and every minute information can be gathered. This will strengthen their relationship
and importantly the understanding between each other. Dating plays an important role on deciding a partner.

Dating Importance

Nowadays Males around the age of 18-30 give more respect and importance to the dating process, as it is very necessary for individuals to select the partner and find out their likes, dislikes, their attitude etc and get a better understanding. Previously people definitely don’t respect this kind of dating because with the view that it may spoil their culture etc. Now it has been slowly changing, people feel the importance of dating.

Most of the arranged marriages or even love marriages become a failure because of misunderstandings, they fail to spend time before marriage, and they failed to understand each other. This is the reason why lot of marriages became a failure. To avoid this kind of things Dating is very very important for the society. Most of the women are complex when it comes to relationship with a male, So every female has to think about dating to know each other because women will feel later if she has found a wrong man for her life. This is why I recommend both male and female to have a proper dating before marriage

Difference Between Data warehouse and Data warehousing

Data storage comprises of an overall architecture and procedure, whereas Data warehouse is where your information is stored in a Database in the kind of Dimension, Fact Tables, Lookup Tables, Aggregated Fact tables. Data storage is not just having an one information warehouse. Data storage is the
difference of information to data, thereby enabling the job to visit its operations and operation. This work is accomplished by the staging and shift of information from information sources, making the job to access and examine data.

Dimensional Model – an Introduction

Data warehousing is essentially what you need to do in order to create a data warehouse, and what you do with it. It is the process of creating, populating, and then querying a data warehouse and can involve a number of discrete technologies such as:

In a Dimensional Model, context of the measurements are represented in dimension tables. You can also think of the context of a measurement as the characteristics such as who, what, where, when, how of a measurement (subject ). In your business process Sales, the characteristics of the ‘monthly sales number’ measurement can be a Location (Where), Time (When), Product Sold (What).

The Dimension Attributes are the various columns in a dimension table. In the Location dimension, the attributes can be Location Code, State, Country, Zip code. Generally the Dimension Attributes are used in report labels, and query constraints such as where Country=’USA’. The dimension attributes also contain one or more hierarchical relationships.

Before designing your data warehouse, you need to decide what this data warehouse contains. Say if you want to build a data warehouse containing monthly sales numbers across multiple store locations, across time and across products then your dimensions are:

Location

Time

Product

Each dimension table contains data for one dimension. In the above example you get all your store location information and put that into one single table
called Location. Your store location data may be spanned across multiple tables in your OLTP system (unlike OLAP), but you need to de-normalize all that data into one single table.

Dimensional modeling is the design concept used by many data warehouse designers to build their data warehouse. Dimensional model is the underlying
data model used by many of the commercial OLAP products available today in the market. In this model, all data is contained in two types of tables called Fact Table and Dimension Table.

In addition to the measurements, the only other things a fact table contains are foreign keys for the dimension tables.

Online Transaction Processing (OLTP), the database is designed to achieve efficient transactions such as INSERT and UPDATE. This is very different from the OLAP design.

Unlike OLAP, normalization is very important to reduce duplicates and also cut down on the size of the data. our OLTP schema may look like this:

Once upon a time, the mark of a savvy company was having a Web site. Sites had lots of pages and if something needed to be changed, you’d call someone who would promise to look into it right away. Then, a couple years ago, your competitors started bragging that their Web sites were dynamic and used databases. This didn’t bother or affect you until your favorite IT guy moved to the Caribbean and was replaced by an automated answering system. it would be pretty time consuming to find clients who have spent more than $1,000 on projects with you if you had to rummage through the filing cabinet adding things up, but it would be almost instantaneous with database software. Now that you have a budget and a lot of changes to make, you want to know how a database-driven Web site can help keep costs down and save time. We’ll start at the beginning.

What is a database?

A database is simply a bunch of information (data) stored on a computer.
This could be a list of all your clients, a list of the products you sell, the results of a chess tournament or everyone in your family tree. The most common type of database is a relational database. Relational databases consist of tables of data with clearly defined columns. If you run a design agency, somewhere on your computer you probably have a spreadsheet with all your clients’ names and addresses. Along the top of the spreadsheet
are the column headings: Name, Address, Telephone Number, Email Address, etc. Down the left side you might have customer identification numbers, and in the middle all the data. This is the same thing as a table in a relational database. It’s your “clients” table. And tucked away in your filing cabinet, you might have a separate folder for every project you’ve ever worked on. This paper contains the project number, the name (or ID number) of the client, a description of the project, the current status, the budget and a completion date. In database terms, this is your “projects” table.

If one day a couple months from now you realize that a check for project number 3068 bounced, you can dig out your “projects” folder and find out the name of the client. Then you can use this name to look up the client’s telephone number in your “clients” file. In this way, your “projects” file is related to your “clients” table, and you essentially have the beginnings of a relational database. Next, you’ll need to migrate your data to some sort of database software.

How do I use database software?

Another popular answer to the question “What is a database?” could be “A piece of software that you use to store your data.” This is because the word “database” can refer to both the software and the actual data. The above section gave more of a dictionary definition of a database. This section talks about the actual software, which makes storing all that data much easier.

Database software is purchased and installed just like any other type of software. Once installed, you can create a database and then start setting it up.First you create the tables, specifying the name of each column and the type of data it will contain (a number, a piece of text or a date). Then you relate bits of data in one table (like your client identification number in your
“clients” table) to bits of data in another table (the client identification number in your “projects” table). Finally, you type in or import all that valuable data. Now you can start searching through it to extract all sorts of information. For instance, it would be pretty time consuming to find clients
who have spent more than $1,000 on projects with you if you had to rummage through the filing cabinet adding things up, but it would be almost instantaneous with database software.

Who makes this database software?

There are a lot of database software manufacturers out there and
a wide range of prices, sizes, speeds and functionalities.

At the lower end of the scale are personal database software products like
Microsoft Access, which is designed to be used by individuals or small companies relatively little data. User friendliness and ease of use are the priority rather than speed and scalability (in other words, it works well when you have 100 projects but not when you have 100,000). At the higher end are full-fledged enterprise solutions, such as Oracle Enterprise Edition. These database software products can handle millions of data entries and are fast and efficient. They have many optimization and performance tools and generally require a database administrator (DBA) to look after them. Products in this range can also be very expensive.

In the middle are products like Microsoft SQL Server, which is a logical upgrade from Microsoft Access for Windows users. There are also several very good free database software products, such as MySQL and PostgreSQL. These are lacking on the user interface side, but can certainly compete on speed and scalability.
